Rock Revetment Riprap Florida
Rock Revetment or Riprap
If you own property on a lake or a Gulf front property and are in need of a specific diameter rock or riprap, contacting Riprap of Florida is your best bet. We will be able to assist you with any job large or small. Our experience and expertise have been serving Southwest Florida for years.
Rock revetments or riprap can be used as additional structural support to an aging seawall or simply an affordable solution to avoid having to build a conventional seawall. The size and type of rock used for your project will vary depending on your shoreline and landscape.
What is Riprap?
Riprap, commonly referred to as rock armor, shot rock or rubble, and is rock or other material used to armor shorelines against water erosion. Riprap revetments are placed over a filter cloth and grades from the water’s edge to the property line. These rocks vary in sizes from 6 to 24 inches in diameter. By installing a Riprap Revetment you provide a strong stable shoreline free from erosion, protected from wave surges and are an affordable alternative to building a vertical seawall.
Riprap works by absorbing the impact of waves before they reach the shoreline or structure. It offers superior stability, durability, and low maintenance for waterfront protection.
Riprap of Florida will be happy to help you with preventing erosion on Lake Fronts, Dams, Spillways, Culverts Canals or Gulf Shore Properties.
